Harrogate-based personal trainer Alice Hardy has opened a new gym, Hardys Fitness, at Claro Court in the town.
Ms Hardy was formerly employed as a personal trainer at Atlas Fitness, also located at Claro Court, which closed suddenly last month. You can read more about the reasons for the closure here.
She was told at the start of July that the gym would close in a month's time, but a week later it had closed its doors for good.
The sense of urgency after the sudden closure pushed her towards realising her dream of owning her own gym.
She said:
It was always my dream, but I didn't think I'd actually be able to do it. I didn't have time to think.
After being handed the keys to her new space, Ms Hardy managed to set up the gym on her own in time for its opening just two weeks later.
Her classes are open to all ability levels, and involve a mixture of strength training and cardiovascular exercises, both with and without the use of machines. The emphasis remains on a sense of personalised training.
Bookings are open now for morning and lunchtime classes, but 6am and 6.45am classes are already fully booked.
Memberships are currently available for £105 a month, or classes can be booked on a pay-as-you-go basis.

Alice Hardy and Hannah Brown celebrate success at the ATHX Games.
In addition to being an established personal trainer, mum-of-two and new business owner Ms Hardy is also a talented athlete.
She competes internationally in ATHX events – a sport involving two-and-a-half hours of non-stop physical challenges across six different 'zones', which demands the peak of physical fitness and strength.
In April, she won the ATHX Pro event in Paris, and she will continue to compete at the highest level alongside her new venture.
