A new reformer Pilates studio at Nuffield Health in Harrogate will hold its first class on Saturday (August 8).
The gym, on Hornbeam Park, constructed a studio with eight reformer beds over summer. It hopes to offer about 75 classes per week.
Reformer Pilates is a variant of the popular exercise method that focuses on building core strength, and improving posture and flexibility. The reformer bed itself can be adjusted to allow users to build up resistance to suit their ability.
Classes will be included as part of Nuffield membership at no extra cost, but require the purchase of reformer grip socks for use on the beds.
New reformer coach, Darren Gladman, said:
Nothing is ever impossible - we are all stronger than we think when it comes to Reformer. My philosophy is zest for life - a journey that you enjoy. Whether you’re back after a break or chasing your next goal, my classes will leave you stronger, fitter and buzzing.
