All four youths arrested after violence flared on Nidderdale Greenway last week have been released on bail.

A 17-year-old boy was taken to hospital with lacersations following the disturbance on Wednesday night.

A police cordon was erected on both sides of the viaduct.

North Yorkshire Police said the following day that three teenagers, two aged 17 and one aged 15, had been arrested on suspicion on affray.

Then on Friday it said another 17-year-old had been arrested in connection with the incident.

But in a further update on Saturday, the force said in a statement that all four had been released on bail and investigations were ongoing. :

It added:

There continues to be a police presence in the area and in the wider community, with our officers on hand to support residents.

We have been carrying out extensive enquiries as part of this investigation, but anyone with information who has yet to report it can contact us on 101 and select option 1, quoting reference NYP24-07-2024-0352.
