A new pub on Harrogate’s Skipton Road will open its doors this weekend.

Kevin Jones, who founded The Office Ale House on Starbeck High Street, submitted plans to North Yorkshire Council to open a second venture in Bilton last October.

Mr Jones sought approval to convert the former Lunns Blinds shop on the corner with Chatsworth Road.

The plans were approved the following month.

Now, a sneak peek of the new location has been released, along with an opening date.

The Office Ale House, Bilton, will serve its first customers this Saturday (February 22) from midday.

It also shared some photos of the pub’s interior on social media (shown below).

Plans said at the time the new pub, which will also operate as a bottle shop, would open daily from noon until 9pm.

“There will be a strong local connection, with our cask and keg offering sourced from within the HG postcode”, the application said.

The Starbeck site opened in April 2023.

Mr Jones told the Stray Ferret at the time he came up with the idea for the pub after finding he had nowhere to go for a pint after working from home in Starbeck during the pandemic.

He said:

I wanted somewhere to go for a pint and a chat after work and there was just nowhere that suited me.

I wanted something with a community feel.
