A person was airlifted to hospital following a two-vehicle crash near Knaresborough this morning (February 23).
Emergency services were called to an incident at the junction of the A658 and the B6163 Thistle Hill shortly before 8am.
North Yorkshire Police subsequently closed the A658. No updates on the road reopening have yet been issued by police.
Yorkshire Air Ambulance landed at the scene at 8.11am, before transporting someone to Leeds General Infirmary at 8.50am.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service told the Stray Ferret fire crews from Harrogate and Knaresborough were called to the scene at 7.52am.
One of the drivers involved in the crash was trapped in their car, but firefighters released them from the vehicle.
"That person was then taken by air ambulance to hospital, and crews then carried out scene safety work", the fire service added.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service added:
We received an emergency call at 7.40am on Monday morning to report a collision at the junction of the A658 and B6163, near Knaresborough.
An ambulance, a specialist paramedic (critical care) and an air ambulance were dispatched to the scene and one patient was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary.
