A man has been arrested on suspicion of shop theft in Harrogate.
North Yorkshire Police this morning (March 13) told the Stray Ferret officers received a report at around 5pm yesterday of a man who had been seen “behaving suspiciously” in shops around the town centre.
Officers attended immediately, police said, and located a man in his 30s with “suspected stolen items” on James Street.
He was arrested and remains in custody at the time of writing.
Two police vans were parked near the war memorial last night as part of the investigation.
