Police are appealing for information after a BMW driver hurled racist abuse at another motorist on Woodfield Road in the Bilton area of Harrogate.
The incident happened at 8.25am on June 12 following a crash between a BMW 1 Series and a Kia Sportage.
Nobody was injured but words were exchanged.
In a statement today, North Yorkshire Police said it was treating the incident as a hate crime.
It said:
The driver of the BMW left his car and shouted racist abuse at the Kia driver.
We’re appealing for any witnesses to this incident, anyone with relevant dashcam footage, to contact us. We’re particularly appealing to anyone who intervened, please get in touch.
