Rudding Park Estate plans seven new homes in Follifoot
Rudding Park Estate has submitted plans for seven new homes in Follifoot.
The estate has tabled the outline proposal to North Yorkshire Council for land off Pannal Road in the village.
According to a planning statement, the plan would see seven new market homes built on the site.
Rudding Park has also proposed to fund the reduction of the speed limit on Pannal Road to 30mph as part of the proposal.

In planning documents, the estate said the scheme would help to contribute to the council’s housing land supply.
It added that the site is infill land which is considered to be classified as “grey belt” as it does not contribute “strongly to the purposes of the green belt”.
It said:
The benefits of supporting the development of this site would include delivering much needed housing to a sustainable location, which in turn will help the local planning authority in closing the gap that presently exists in respect of the shortfall of housing that is prevalent in the former district and in North Yorkshire Council overall.
The estate added that Follifoot had a number of local services, including a public house, primary school and shop to complement the scheme.
North Yorkshire Council will make a decision on the proposal at a later date.
The latest plans come as the council backed Rudding Park’s proposal for three new homes in Follifoot in March.
The plan, which is also earmarked for land off Pannal Road, will see three new detatched homes built on a site which was previously used for horse grazing.
