A new Greggs bakery will open in Starbeck in May.

The UK bakery chain will open next door to the Morrisons petrol station on Harrogate’s Plumpton Park.

Motor Fuel Group, the owner of the petrol station, confirmed the news on social media today (April 22), saying:

We’re excited to announce that a brand new Greggs will be opening in just 5 weeks!

The Stray Ferret reported in March that Motor Fuel Group had teased the store's opening on social media.

Further images surfaced in the following weeks showing the construction of a new building next door to the petrol station.

Motor Fuel Group was granted permission by North Yorkshire Council to extend the sales building at the Plumpton Park petrol station in September.

The plan gave the go-ahead for a one-storey extension to be constructed, plus new jet washes and pumps to be installed at the site.

The company acquired 337 Morrisons petrol forecourts, which included Starbeck, in April 2024 and announced a £40 million investment plan for the sites.

This will bring the total number of Greggs in the Harrogate district to six, with three of them in Harrogate.

The company, which is based in St Albans, hosts Greggs outlets at 150 of its forecourts.
