Officers said three males targeted a vulnerable resident yesterday (January 26) where they used “pressuring tactics” to obtain money.
In a statement, North Yorkshire Police said the men obtained £1,000 for “unnecessary services”.
The force said:
Please do not feel compelled to hand over money to anyone at your door. Contact us immediately if someone attempts to pressure you.
