A large art installation will go on display in Harrogate this week as part of a local literature festival.
Lightweight, which has been created by Huddersfield company Impossible Arts, is an inflated sphere that measures four metres in height.
The installation will be in place at The Crown Hotel as part of the Raworths Harrogate Literature Festival, which starts tomorrow (October 9).
The hotel is the primary venue for the festival.
Lightweight will be lit by moving images, visual effects and text, which will all be accommpanied by music.
People can even have their photograph taken in a photobooth, which will be turned into animations and displayed on the sphere.
Rachel Tunnifcliffe, senior partner at Raworths, said:
This is a great way of getting people to interact with an artwork in a fun and playful manner and encourage them into the town centre as part of our community.
It’s also an opportunity to mark the opening weekend of this year’s Raworths Harrogate Literature Festival which features a fantastic line-up of brilliant guest speakers who will no doubt spark some entertaining and thought-provoking discussions.
Lightweight will be on display this Friday and Saturday (October 10 to 11).
