One of the most potholed stretches of road in Ripon is earmarked for resurfacing in the next financial year,
Moss's Arcade, which runs alongside the city's bus station and has been in a poor state of repair for many years, will be included in the North Yorkshire Council highways capital programme for 2025-2026.
Councillor Andrew Williams, who is leader of Ripon City Council, told members at last week's full council meeting:
I'm pleased to report that I've received confirmation from North Yorkshire Highways, that resurfacing of Moss's Arcade and Victoria Grove will be included in the programme of work to be carried out in the next financial year.
Together with the up-coming facelift for the bus station, the look of the area will be greatly improved and the roads will be safer to use.
The works are in addition to the resurfacing of roads around Ripon Market Square that is scheduled for completion next month at a cost of £630,000
