A man and woman from Knaresborough have admitted child neglect offences.
The defendants, who cannot be named to protect the identities of the children, each pleaded guilty to two charges during a hearing at Harrogate Magistrates Court yesterday (December 18).
When responsible for two named children, they caused the children to be assaulted, ill-treated, neglected, abandoned or exposed in a manner likely to cause them unnecessary suffering or injury.
The offences happened this year.
Sean Wilson, defending, requested the case be immediately adjourned for pre-sentence reports to be prepared.
The prosecution and the magistrates agreed and the case was adjourned until February 27, when both defendants are due to be sentenced at Harrogate Magistrates Court.
The pair were released on conditional bail.
