Tower Vets in Knaresborough is set to close this Friday.
The practice on Wetherby Road was the only Tower Vets practice outside of the York area.
Tower Veterinary Group announced the imminent closure on social media yesterday and cited staff shortages as the reason behind it.
The statement said:
Our Knaresborough practice will be closing permanently on 28th June 2024.
This has not been an easy decision to make, but due to nationwide vet shortages and recruitment struggles, we feel that this is the most appropriate course of action to take. We believe that consolidating our resources and focusing on our other sites will allow us to provide an even better service to our patients and clients in the long term.
Our friendly branches in Acomb, Haxby, and Fulford, who offer all the same caring and professional services you are used to, remain on hand to support you and your pet. If you would prefer to register your pet with another vet practice, we will of course be able to help with this.
The closure follows the news that a 24-hour animal hospital has plans to open in Harrogate.
