A well-known interiors shop in Ripon has been listed for sale.
The Castle on North Street, which has been operating for more than 30 years, is on the market for £49,950 plus stock at valuation.
According to a Rightmove listing by Ilkley estate agent Alan J Picken, The Castle's owner has decided to take a “well-deserved retirement after many happy years in the business”.
The business trades daily, selling a range of homeware, furniture and gifts.
The listing adds:
The business occupies a prime trading position in the heart of Ripon and over the years it has established an excellent reputation in the trade, attracting a local and loyal client base as well as customers from further afield.
There's scope to take advantage of the prime position and excellent premises, in fact this could be an ideal bed centre for Ripon as there is certainly the appetite for this, and the third floor is vacant at present with a large area that can be utlised.

The business turned over just below £300,000 at the end of its 2024 accounting year, with an adjusted net profit of more than £75,000.
“We trust this will prove a resoundingly successful acquisition, especially for a dedicated owner/proprietor to continue to exploit the full potential and derive maximum profits”, the listing adds.
The Stray Ferret approached Graham Wilkes, director at The Castle, for comment.
He said:
The Castle is up for sale after 35 years of trading in Ripon, 32 years in the same building and the first 3 in a building which was later demolished for access to the old Booths supermarket.
Hopefully, if a buyer is found, they will keep up the business successfully and move forward with the times.
