Magnet opens store in Harrogate town centre
Kitchen retailer Magnet today (August 25) launched a new store in the centre of Harrogate.
Previously situated on Ripon Road, the company has moved onto Albert Street – where Yo Sushi used to be – in a smaller but well-located site.
Its former location will soon be home to Wickes, with an opening date yet to be revealed.
Mayor of Harrogate Viv Poskitt cut the ribbon at the store this morning along with Magnet chief executive Sophie Rose and store operations director James Cheetham.
The 2,260 sq ft showroom is mostly made up of display kitchens with working appliances, including an integrated coffee machine, washer and dryer set and countless hobs.
The showroom exhibits some of the most popular designs.
The locally founded brand also will be hosting demonstrations, with a sign outside already advertising a tea-themed event with Harrogate business True Tea, with a talk, tea tastings and goody bags.
As well as example kitchens, the back of the store has a design studio, where customers can plan exactly what they want with a member of staff – including the granular detail of handles, shades of wood and finishes.
Ms Rose said:
Harrogate is a great example of our smaller store format, giving customers a more personal and intimate design experience while working strongly for us as a business too.
We’ve already seen a brilliant response locally, with people trying to come through the doors before we’d even officially opened and the team booking design appointments ahead of opening day. It’s a really encouraging sign of the appetite locally for beautiful kitchen design, and I’m excited to see what the team can build from here.
