A new farm café has opened its doors in Killinghall.
Hay Café, based at Spruisty Hall Farm just off Ripon Road, officially opened yesterday (May 13).
It comes after the farm was listed for sale in July 2024, with an asking price of £2.25 million.
Besides the stone farmhouse at the site, the sale also included a six-acre farm, three holiday cottages and more than 20 campsite pitches.
Former owner Tanya Umpleby initiated the sale following the death of her husband in 2023.
Hay Café advertises itself on social media as a “café for the community, run by a local lad and his family”.
It serves a range of brunch dishes, including scrambled eggs and smashed avocado, as well as hot and cold sandwiches and soup.
Pressed juices and coffees are also available.

The Stray Ferret contacted Hay Café for more information, but we had not received a response by the time of publication.
The café is open from 9.30am until 4.30pm, Tuesday to Friday.
Food is served until 3pm.
