The body of a woman was discovered at Harrogate’s Montpellier Gardens this morning (August 18).
The Stray Ferret reported a cordon was in place at the gardens, between Montpellier Hill and Montpellier Square, when we visited the scene at around 8.40am.
In a statement, North Yorkshire Police this afternoon said it received a report that a woman’s body had been found in the garden area just after 6.15am.
The cordon was erected, alongside a small screening area, to allow an investigation into the circumstances to be carried out.
Police do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding her death at this stage and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
“Our thoughts at this time are with the woman’s family”, the statement added.

The body was found this morning.
