North Yorkshire Police has issued a brief statement about its attendance in the Saltergate area of Harrogate this afternoon (September 6)
The statement said officers were deployed to the Newby Crescent area in response to concerns for the welfare of three girls.
Saltergate Schools is based on Newby Crescent and it is understood children at the infants and junior schools were kept inside while the incident took place.
The statement said:
We received a report of concern for the welfare of three girls in the Newby Crescent area of Harrogate shortly before 3pm today. Officers attended, located the girls and returned them home.
No further details have been released. The police reference number for the incident is NYP-06092024-0265.
